Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (United Kingdom)
The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge across the Thames at Thurrock in England. It spans a distance of 810 m, the main span measures 305 m. The supporting concrete pylons are 137 m high, providing a height clearance of 58 m from the road surface.
HeidelbergCement's subsidiary Hanson UK supplied cement as well as 40,000 t of Regen for the project. The use of Regen in concrete production serves to substantially reduce CO2 emissions associated with concrete manufacture.
