The Global Project Procurement & Sourcing Manager will act as the core team member of the Multidisciplinary Procurement Team and lead the Project Procurement Team within a given project. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall fulfilment of the sourcing targets and commitments in multiple projects, including time, cost and quality. You will be part of the Group Procurement Department and report to the Global Team Leader Project Sourcing and be based in the HQ of Heidelberg.

Your next challenge

Management and Collaboration:
  • As a member of Heidelberg Materials’ Group Procurement Department, you will be responsible for leading activities in international projects working alongside multiple project management teams for carbon capture and cement projects.
  • You will be responsible for managing the activities of expediters, contract managers, time schedulers, and logistic managers.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with project goals.
  • Ensure that all project procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and project timelines.
  • In accordance with the Group Procurement and Project Guidelines, you will assume commercial responsibility for tender activities, including predevelopment, design engineering, pre-FEED, FEED, final negotiations and contracting.
Planning and Strategy Development:
  • Define procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary resources.
Sourcing & Supplier Management:
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • It is of the utmost importance to cultivate and sustain strong relationships with EPCs, technology providers, integrators, licensors, and key suppliers. This is essential for navigating the complexities of contract negotiations, pricing, and term.
Contract & Claim Management
  • Monitor contract performance and address any issues or disputes that may arise during the project lifecycle.


Your profile

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain & project management, preferably within the cement or oil and gas business.
  • Very strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and regulation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage procurement activities in the context of large-scale plant projects
  • Good understanding of the contractual aspects of an EPC contract
  • Experience in project management
  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Technical Studies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective communication and negotiation with various stakeholders
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, coaching, and stakeholder management
