Global HME Fleet Management - Data Analyst (f/m/d)

Your new role will be located within the Digital Business Solutions Team who focus on providing consistent systems which can be used at all our locations that create operational efficiency and provide internal customers with an outstanding service.
This exciting opportunity is ideal for a person who can review data trends combined with their understanding of HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) to create meaningful improvements in Heidelberg Materials’ global HME fleet performance. The ideal person for this newly created role will leverage their knowledge and experience ensuring that their insights guide HME stakeholders in achieving HME Operational Excellence.
Taking direction from the CCA Global HME Fleet Manager, this position is integral to the success of the Heidelberg Materials Fleet Management systems and will be regarded as the subject matter expert on HME Data analytics, across all product lines.


Your next challenge

  • Drive the collection and analysis of HME data
  • Assist in the delivery of comprehensive and accurate HME Fleet data management systems
  • Provide analysis to help drive improved RCO (Result from current operations) relative to HME performance utilization, OPEX and CAPEX, improving TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)
  • Provide HME digital analytics support to the Heidelberg Materials Global HME Fleet Manager

Overview of areas of work:

1. Global HME Fleet Database
  • Work with key stakeholders/countries to capture all assets and load into system. Regularly assessing data accuracy.
  • Provide system training to end-users
  • Monitor system use, data accuracy
  • Provide guidance and input into the functional development of the database to drive improved system architecture (ease of use) and lead/support new feature development
  • Process map existing CMMS to feed information via APIs into the central HME database, including financial data. Ensure record alignment across all relevant systems. Both Heidelberg Material systems and third-party platforms such as those provided by OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)
  • Drive system development through project management structure with Digital product team
  • Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
  • Communicate system releases with the wider Fleet Management community
  • Develop standardized reporting for Global KPI and benchmarking
  • Work to develop the Forecasting and rightsizing features of the system
  • Support other HME systems’ process mapping for broader HME system landscape development

2. Digital solutions
  • Enable increased visibility and resulting in improved decision making leading to improved TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)
  • Enhance Telematics – increase the number of HME which are visible and increase relevant data points into the HME Dashboard
  • Extend Telematics Coverage
  • Real Time Visibility of HME solution support

3. Analytics (using HME OEM data)
  • Work with OEMs to drive OEM HME data capture of the Heidelberg Materials fleet
  • Drive improvements in the development of the HME data capture systems, architecture and process mapping
  • Monitor and drive use of the HME data analytics centre, helping operations increase their RCO/t unit rates
  • Identify and communicate performance improvement opportunities

Your profile

  • An understanding and exposure to the materials supply industry, preferably in Aggregates (Mining and Quarrying) operations
  • Solid exposure to HME
  • HME knowledge and operations aptitude
  • Proficient use of MS Office, MS Excel essential, PowerPoint, Word
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into insights. Ability to develop detailed data reports, and present to key business stakeholders including Operations Management, and Corporate Management level
  •  Familiarity with HME major OEM Telematics systems, including, but not limited to, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, John Deere and Volvo
  • Previous Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems experience and analytics utilisation such as SAP, Maximo, JDE, etc.
  • Ex-Diesel mechanics and tradespeople that have data analytics capability are encouraged to apply
  • Have a high affinity with information technology and quick understanding of systemic details
  • Strong intercultural competence and high service orientation, comfortable working with all levels of staff from operations to management
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and driven

Experience and Education:

  • Ideally you have 5+ year’s work experience in a HME related industry
  • Optional - bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Statistics or Accounting with 3+ years HME operations experience, or Extractive Industries (Quarrying or Mining) operational experience
  • Knowledge of Tableau would be an advantage

Personnel requirements:

  • Willingness to travel: The person may attend sites, for example participating in HME site reviews
  • Fluent in English (Verbal and Written)
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Comply with the competition legislation and all related company instructions and procedures, all Group and company administrative, management and safety instructions as amended from time to time
