Sustainable management is an essential component of HeidelbergCement's corporate strategy. This commitment and the numerous associated activities and projects at HeidelbergCement were recognized in two rankings at the beginning of 2019.

Top marks for environmental and climate protection in the CDP rating

The international non-profit organization CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) has published the results of its company ranking for 2018, which is one of the most important sustainability ratings for the capital market. Like in the previous year, HeidelbergCement received scores of A- in the categories of “climate change” and “water”, thus taking the leading position in the cement sector. CDP rates the commitment and transparency of companies to environmental and climate protection with grades ranging from A (top grade) to D-.

Praise for HeidelbergCement’s Sustainability Report 2017

Since 1994, the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and the association future e. V. have been analyzing the way companies present their ecological and social activities and services in their Ranking of Sustainability Reports. In the current evaluation, HeidelbergCement is in 20th place with the Sustainability Report 2017, thus achieving a very good result within the TOP30 of large companies. Following a structural and design relaunch, the Sustainability Report 2017 has been published as an interactive PDF with a clear and pleasant layout. Its high communicative quality, clear language and flawless technical implementation received especially good marks in the ranking.
